Why Polarized Lenses?

Written on 10:43 PM by Emperor Optics Sembawang

We've all heard about it but what exactly is glare?

When light hits a surface, it becomes scattered in all directions, creating difficulty in viewing objects, producing strain and discomfort in the eyes as we try to overcome the increase in brightness. When the glare is too disturbing, you will tend to look away, squint your eyes and is dangerous when they affect your ability to see things well.

Normal sunglasses cannot block off glare efficiently. They merely reduce the amount of light entering thus lowering the illumination, but Polarized lenses is able to filter out the unwanted glares and yet allow the useful visible light to pass through the lenses and reach our eyes.

One classic example:

Imagine you are fishing on a bright sunny day, facing the extremely reflective water.

On your right is how one perceive through a pair of normal UV tinted sunglasses.

Next would be how one perceive through a pair of polarized lenses.

Now are you able to tell the difference? So why choose a pair of normal sunglasses when you can have that extra edge with a pair of polarized lenses. Whether you are a golfer, a fisherman or a driver on the road, polarized lenses will be one of the best sun lenses you can have that provides you with 100 percent UV protection, excellent glare reduction, paired with the availability to be made into prescription and/or tinted to enhance and fulfil your sport's specific needs.

Thank you. Have a nice day.
